So I was able to resolve my problem. While HP does't officially support the G6 or prior servers on 2012, I was able to install the ILO2 driver manually (HP Driver cp013803.exe). Instead of launching the HP executable directly, which gave me an error message saying that the OS wasn't supported, I unzipped the executable first and installed the driver via the Device manager. It installed successfully and all the problems above are resolved (with the exception of #3, but i learned that the System Management Homepage has the same functionally when installed on 2008R2 so I don't believe this one was an issue to start off.)

As for HP's decision not to support Windows Server 2012 on this line of servers, I am not pleased with their decision, but I don't think that they are the primary responsible party in this decision. It appears that the G6 series was, by and large, a proponent of the ATI ES1000 Graphics chipset. This chipset currently has no driver support within Windows Server 2012 (and may never, for that matter). This then appears to be the reasoning behind HP's decision not to support Windows Server 2012 for these servers. 2ff7e9595c
